Managing Neurodiverse Employees and Working With Neurodiversity
If you have employees who are neurodiverse with autism, ADHD, dyslexia etc, Educating Matters provides full training, consultations and programmes to help navigate neurodiversity in the workplace. We also support working parents and carers of neurodiverse children.
Under the supervision of our occupational pscyhologist Gwen, we can help your organisation create an inclusive environment, providing safety, clear structure and remove stigmas – so you can get the best of your employees and create a supportive environment.
Gwen has an MSc in Occupational Psychology focusing on Workplace Wellbeing. She is a trained psychotherapist, relationship therapist and coach working with people all over the world to reduce anxiety and have happier, healthier lives.
She studied Psychology at the University of Utah and then trained to become a teacher in Special Education, working with children with severe behavioural disorders, autism and the at risk population. She has trained many educators on behaviour management and cultural awareness. Gwen has taught in the USA and the UK. A mother of 4, she is very active in her children’s schools.

Dyspraxia
Dyscalculia
Developmental Language Disorder
Tourettes
Why Neurodiversity Training Matters for Employees
Employees often work closely with people who think, process information or communicate very differently from themselves. Without awareness, this can lead to frustration, misinterpretation or feelings of being overlooked.
Gwen helps employees:
Understand neurodivergent behaviours and needs
Communicate more clearly and respectfully
Reduce misunderstandings and workplace tension
Appreciate different thinking styles and strengths
Build more positive, productive working relationships
When employees feel understood and valued, their wellbeing and performance improve — inside and outside of work.
Why Does Neurodiversity Training Matter for Corporates and Organisations?
Neurodiversity can influence collaboration, communication, task management and workplace culture across an organisation. Without guidance, differences in processing or communication may lead to conflict, disengagement or underutilised talent.
Offering neurodiversity training helps your organisation:
Strengthen team cohesion and communication
Reduce barriers to productivity and collaboration
Improve leadership and management approaches
Boost engagement and harness diverse strengths
Support a culture of inclusion and reasonable adjustments
When employees feel seen, understood and supported, they work more confidently and collaboratively — benefitting the entire organisation.
Why Would I Need Help Managing Neurodiversity in The Organisation?
Neurodivergent employees may experience the workplace differently, and without awareness, these differences can create unnecessary friction or missed opportunities. Some other employees may not know how to handle their behaviour.
What might seem like a small preference to one person such as how instructions are given or how meetings are structured, can significantly affect a neurodivergent colleague’s ability to perform at their best.
However, just because you have staff that have ADHD or autism does not mean that they cannot be highly successful within your organisation. In fact, some of the most successful people in business and society are neurodiverse. So if there is a way that we can help you harness their brilliance and incorporate this into the organisation, this could be hugely beneficial for everyone involved.
Teams may struggle with:
Different communication styles and preferences (direct vs indirect)
“It really made me feel like I can do this and gave me a structure to work from. The presenter was hugely knowledgeable and I felt like I trusted her. Probably one of the best webinars on the subject that I’ve come across so far.”
UBS
“We had over 1500 participants dial in, of those that stayed on the line to vote – we had a 99% satisfaction rate which is pretty fab! As they’re a tough crowd to crack. Educating Matters helps colleagues to develop a more practical and positive attitude to approaching their concerns and difficulties.”
DWP
“Rachel is an amazing professional with innovative thinking. It is a pleasure to work with her. The sessions, she is delivering, on topics such as positive parenting, motivation, resilience, confidence, transition and many others to support our colleagues, have a great content and are full of simple practical advices. The feedback, received from parents and carers, is that Rachel’s sessions helped them to better understand and support their children in everyday life.”
Barclays
“I feel so grateful to work for a company that values, encourages and supports employee networks. Following the session our parents are feeling empowered to immediately change the conversations with their children. I know that this session’s positive effects will be felt not only at home but in the workplace too.”
Centrica
“Rachel was very easy to talk to and quite relatable. She used experiences from her own life to put things into context and was very open and honest. She was able to give more tailored suggestions and she followed all this up with an e-mail covering the resources we had discussed. I found the whole experience extremely helpful.”
Accenture
“I loved your honest and candid approach and what really stuck with me is the plethora of specific examples you have used to illustrate the practical techniques you taught us. That really brought it to life for me. All the lessons are equally applicable to work and personal relationships, so I will definitely be using them.”
EY
“Thank you so, so much for an exceptional session last week! As was evident in the chat panel, the level of engagement was absolutely brilliant.”

Frequently Asked Questions
What Does It Mean to Work With Neurodiversity?
Today’s workplace includes employees with a range of neurological differences, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and other conditions. Each neurodivergent person brings unique strengths, communication preferences, working styles and support needs — all shaped by how their brain processes information.
Working effectively with neurodiversity means recognising these differences, appreciating the strengths neurodivergent employees offer and learning how to adapt communication and workflows so everyone feels included and understood. Rachel’s approach focuses on real-life examples, practical tools and simple shifts that improve everyday interactions.
Who is Neurodiversity Management Training For?
Our training is ideal for employees, managers, HR teams and colleagues – and any stakeholders that work with neurodiverse teams and staff.
Do You Offer Virtual or Onsite Training For Managing Neurodiversity?
Yes, we are used to providing seminars and trainings in person for 1 to 500 people at a time. For those that work remotely or abroad in different timezones, we are used to accommodating them by running webinars and online trainings through Zoom too.
Can We Record Sessions To Help With Employee Training?
Yes, absolutely. Many organisations use session recordings, toolkits and follow-up resources to share with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), new joiners and teams who couldn’t attend live. This helps extend the impact and ensures continuous learning across your organisation.
